Local attractions

Closely located to Minions, home of the famous Hurlers, the Cheesewring and Sterts Open Air Theatre. Siblyback Lake is approximately 4 miles distant where there is a host of watersport activities available and one of the best fishing spots in Cornwall. The market town of Launceston is 10 miles to the north, Liskeard 6 miles to the south and Plymouth approximately 15 miles to the south-east. The famous fishing port of Looe on the south Cornwall coast is approximately 14 miles away whilst other noted coastal beauty spots such as Polperro and Fowey are all within close proximity.

The Eden Project is approximately 18 miles to the south. Wheal Tor lies in a equidistant position between the two beautiful Cornish Coastlines.



Set in a secluded pine copse and 21/2 acres of gardens on the edge of Bodmin Moor, the premises was once home to Captain Seccombe who managed the prosperous East Caradon copper mine and the original window from which the miners where paid is still in existence. After the mining boom Wheal Tor became East Caradon Farm then later a care home until its eventual guise as a pub and hotel in the early 1970's.
