Wheal Tor is a freehold licensed premises and is the highest inn in Cornwall nestling 996ft high atop Caradon Hill a truly stunning location with some of the best views in Cornwall. Trading all year round the premises is a popular haunt of locals , walkers and visitors alike – everybody is always welcome whether to sit outside in the gardens and admire the views whilst enjoying a cream tea or a pint of local ale or simply warming yourself by the log fire on a cold winters day.

Set in a secluded pine copse and 21/2 acres of gardens on the edge of Bodmin Moor, the premises was once home to Captain Seccombe who managed the prosperous East Caradon copper mine and indeed, the original window from which the miners where paid is still in existence. After the mining boom Wheal Tor became East Caradon Farm then later a care home until its eventual guise as a pub and hotel in the early 1970's. Approached by a hard core track that meanders over the moor the property now trades as a licensed bar and restaurant with seven nicely furnished en-suite letting rooms.

The property also has facilities for functions , weddings and conferences. Wheal Tor is a truly unique experience that has to be seen to be believed.
